The company specializes in hotel business Hoteis.com did research on the average value of snacks in countries that receive many tourists to allow travelers to better plan budgets and found that the city of Geneva, Switzerland, is the world’s most expensive city for a sandwich: it is about $ 27.
Using as a parameter of the classic sandwich prices found in hotels made with chicken, bacon, egg, lettuce and mayonnaise on white bread, Club Sandwich Index (CSI) offers tourists an indication of food costs associated to the chosen destination for traveling. In total, 840 hotels around the world were consulted.
Price changes reveal the recent economic history of the country, since the values of foods and drinks are directly impacted by economic changes and currency fluctuations.
In Swiss city, the famous sandwich prices ranged from $ 46 for a five star hotel and $ 12 for a three star establishment. Paris, a gastronomic global, is in second place with a new average of $ 24 followed by Oslo (Norway), who held the third place with $ 23.
New Delhi, India, is considered as a cheaper location, with an average of $ 7. Some other place that is known as a tourist destination also has an average of less than $ 13 including Madrid, capital of Spain ($ 12), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, has averaged $ 12 and Bangkok, Thailand, with an estimated cost of $ 10.
